Goji berries originate in Asia where they have been used as a medicinal herb and food supplement for over 2000 years. They contain large amounts of antioxidants which may protect against eye diseases, balances the insulin levels and supports the immune system.
Labeled as "super fruit" it is being sold as a way to slow down aging and support against a variety of illnesses. Goji berries are rich in Vitamin A, B and some Vitamin C. Since they don't contain too much sugar make the perfect little treat for small animals.
Suitable for degus as treats (low sugar contents).
Some bunny people even recommend giving goji berries in cases of e.cuniculi, bladder sludge or other infections.
Please keep always in mind when you serve your pet new food:
Some animals need their time to smell and try it since a lot of them have never smelled a flower or certain herbs before.
We, however, found that most critters dig our flower mixes right away. :-)

Please note that some of these herbs like dandelions, red clover and nettles contain a larger amount of calcium compared to other herbs or flowers. In their fresh state some of these herbs may be diuretic but if you have an animal with bladder stones or issues with bladder sludge we suggest to consult your vet before offering these as treats.
